东晋时期，北方前秦王苻坚发动入侵东晋的战争，晋朝大将朱序奉命镇守襄阳，前秦军将襄阳围得水泄不通。朱序的母亲韩氏登上城楼察看地形，组织妇女另造一座城内新城，它非常坚固，牢不可破。苻坚对新城无可奈何。
