东汉末年，刘备在与曹操作战中丢失了地盘，就去投奔刘表。刘表设酒宴安慰他。席间两人谈得甚欢，刘备入厕摸自己的髀，发现上面的肉又长了起来，回座后不禁感慨，这样下去，光复汉室何时才能成功？刘表送他地盘与军队以抵御曹操。
