春秋时期，楚文王向邓国借道攻打申国，邓国的国王邓祁侯是楚文王的舅舅，他亲自迎接楚文王，他的儿子要父亲提防这个外甥，可邓祁侯不听，让楚文王攻打申国，可等他灭了申国后回师途中就进攻邓国，邓祁侯真是后悔莫及。
