公元前197年，汉高祖刘邦带兵攻打巨鹿郡郡守陈豕希，韩信因为与陈关系好加上削爵有情绪就没去。刘邦的妻子吕后听信谗言，让萧何用计把韩信骗进长乐宫杀害。韩信临死时后悔没听蒯通的话。刘邦要处死蒯通，蒯通巧言被释无罪。
