洁身自好的典故

战国时期，楚国三闾大夫屈原，因不与同朝贪官同流合污，被人陷害遭到流放。他常常一边走，一边吟唱着楚国的诗歌，心中牵挂着国家大事。一天，屈原来到湘江边。一个渔夫见到他后惊讶地问：“你不就是屈大夫吗？为何落到这般地步？”屈原叹息道：“整个世道都像这泛滥的江水一样浑浊，而我却像山泉一样清澈见底。”渔夫故意说：“世道浑浊，你为什么不搅动泥沙，推波助澜？何苦洁身自好，遭此下场。”屈原说：“我听说一个人洗头后戴帽，先要弹去帽上的灰尘；洗澡后穿衣，先要抖直衣服。我怎么能使自己洁净的身躯被脏物污染呢。”渔夫听这番话后，对屈原正直和高尚的品格十分敬佩，于是唱着歌，划着船离开了。
