八面威风的典故

元朝末年，封建朝廷愈加腐败，各地农民纷纷举起义旗，反抗元朝的统治。这时朱元璋已经领兵攻下安徽和阳，准备继续南下。

在过年那天，他与大将徐达，同乘一条小船，从长江北岸渡过长江。船主是对老夫妻，船夫知道船上坐着的是大名鼎鼎的朱元璋，便高声喊看号子向他庆贺说：“圣天子六龙护驾，大将军八面威风。”

朱元璋明白这是祝贺帝王的话，心里非常高兴，便和徐达轻轻地踢着脚，互相表达庆贺之意。

后来朱元璋统一全国，建立了明朝，他成为历史上闻名的皇帝明太祖。明太祖找到当年的船夫，给了他封赏，又将他那只小船涂上朱红颜色，表示有功。
