班荆道旧的成语故事

基本解释指朋友相遇于途，铺荆坐地，共叙情怀。后泛指朋友相遇，共叙离情。亦作“班荆道故”。

出处典出《左传 襄公二十六年》：“楚伍参与蔡太师子朝友，其子伍举与声子相善……伍举奔郑，将遂奔晋。声子将如晋，遇之于郑郊，班荆相与食，而言复故。”杜预注：“班，布也。布荆坐地，共议归楚，事朋友世亲。”

班荆道旧的典故

春秋时期，楚国的伍参与蔡国的子朝是好朋友，他们的儿子伍举与声子也是好朋友。伍举因为岳父王子弁犯罪而逃到郑都城郊外，与声子相见，他们马上拔下路边的荆草铺在地上相对而坐，互相倾诉衷肠。声子后终于为伍举平反。
