城下之盟的典故

楚国攻打宋国（在今河南商丘县）的时候，宋国国都被楚军重重包围。城里的宋国人无粮无柴，很是恐慌。于是派华元趁黑夜悄悄潜入楚军主将子反的营帐，用强硬的口气对子反说：“我们的国君叫我明白告诉你：我们已经到了粮空柴尽的地步了。但是，你们如果以为趁此可以逼迫我们订立‘城下之盟’，把我们置于死地，那是绝对办不到的！”子反见华元这么厉害，当即答应撤军，平等谈判，友好结盟。
