东汉末年，刘备处境艰难就去投奔曹操。曹操的谋士程昱知道刘备不是等闲之辈，劝曹操尽早除掉刘备。刘备为麻痹曹操，装做种菜不问政治。曹操灭了吕布后，刘备请求带兵攻打袁术，曹操给了五万军马，刘备离开曹操自立旗号。
