战国时期孟子与景春讨论大丈夫问题，景春认为公孙衍及张仪是真正大丈夫，因为他们主张连横学说，游说六国归顺秦国。孟子认为：大丈夫得志时要爱护别人，按规律办事，光明磊落；不得志时做到富贵不能淫，威武不能屈。
